Some users have their My Documents on their
computer pointed to a UNC path, which will not let
them change the path to H:\.

In order to fix this, make sure the contents of
their H: drive is backed up.

Go to Start, Run and type: regedit (logged in as
the user in question) and click OK or hit enter on
the keyboard.

Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

Under Shell Folders and User Shell Folders you
need to change the system path from \\server\share
to H:\

Its usually a good idea to disconnect their H:
drive first.

Log out, log back in and their My Documents folder
should be redirected to H:\ without data loss.

says she does exactly what Ron's email says to
do, but she does not have the target location for
her my documents "h:\" so she manually types this
in, but when doing so she gets an error message.

error message:
the target you specified cannot be used as a
document's folder.

available times:
tomorrow morning is best from 9am on.
