I installed Remote Desktop Connection on her Mac,
and showed her how to use it.

Hello Karie, this is Todor from University
Computing Services. As far as I can tell,
Microsoft does not have a Mac version for
Publisher. An alternative way to use Publisher
from you Mac is to log in to the terminal server
via Remote Desktop Connection making sure you save
your files to your H: drive. (Remote Desktop
Connection should be already installed on your
computer under Utilities, but if it's not there,
let us know and we'll come and install it).
