****This is an email****

Not to worry--my messages are getting opened by
Eudora (that's why I keep hearing the tonal
announcement), but are being put in a mailbox, new
to me, at the bottom of my list of
mailboxes--called inbox. What that's
about I have no clue, but it seems to be delivering..!

Dr. VanErt,

I see your email account is healthy and receiving
WOU emails. Of course, if you are using Eudora,
instead of logging in at
http://www.wou.edu/webmail you will not receive
emails because Eudora is a POP3 client. As you
are already aware, we have POP3 disabled and
utilize IMAP. POP3 has caused a great deal of
instability in our mail system and our director,
Bill Kernan, has requested that it be disabled.
There might be an IMAP setting through Eudora, but
I cannot confirm this. If not, you will need to
use a different IMAP client or use the above link
for the web interface. See Bill Kernan if you have
any more questions regarding the disabling of POP3
on our mail server. With that said, is there
anything else I can assist you with in regards to
the email system on campus?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,
     Two completely different complaints:
1. Since the switch to the new WOU webmail, I
no longer get anything from the general campus
listserve--I don't like this.
2. I ONLY used Eudora because it allows me to
change the subject line--making it very easy to
retrieve old emails!!! Why on earth does our
webmail not allow this? Why am I the only one who
cares about filing away emails in a sensible,
retrievable way?

Dr. VanErt,

We no longer support the use of POP3 to get email
from our mail system, if I recall correctly, you
use Eudora or another POP3 client for email. You
will need to use IMAP.

If you are referring to a lack of new email in the
webmail interface at: http://www.wou.edu/webmail
then please let me know.

If you have any questions regarding the lack of
POP3 support in the new mail system, please
contact Bill Kernan.
