I took back her laptop to her.  She know that the
DVD drive will not work anymore.

They are electing not to have it repaired, and it
needs to be picked up from the Mac store.

Denise,

Your laptop is going to cost around $494 to
repair, they have to replace the entire bottom
shell of the laptop to correct the bent part near
the DVD slot.

I need an index number to charge the repair to, as
it is not going to be covered under warranty.

I can create a Purchase Order for this, once a 
purchase request with part number, and/or quote.  
Also you need to talk to Bill about who is paying 
for it, as it's not in my scope/or job duty to 
make these decisions.  Why is it not covered in 
the warranty?

1142192 is the repair order number at the Mac Store

$494 repair estimate

It is not a warranty repair, and there is physical
damage to the drive slot, some of which is from a
student worker attempting to straighten the bent slot.

I don't know if we can charge the repair to Denise
Visuano's department totally, or if they will
split the cost, since our department is partly
responsible for some of the cosmetic damage in
trying to straighten the case around the optical
drive slot.

DVD slot in the case is damaged,one of the student
techs dinged up the slot trying to get it unbent.

Its likely we will have to pay for the repairs.

called to check on the task, and says she needs to
get admin rights to this computer, says she wanted
to get wireless to work. says it asks her to
install something but because she does not have
admin rights she cannot work.

her it is not in the right region, and she does
not have the right to change it to region one.
she wants to know if someone can help her out with
this.
