Regarding the computers that will not run the new
WOU web email system due to OS 10.3.9, the
identification number for the MAC computer in OPE
117 is:  #20040549[Edit Inv].

Again, the number for the computer in my office
(NPE 218) is  #20031208[Edit Inv].

I tried your suggestion below and it didn't work
for me.  Then, I found out we are having the same
problem with the MAC computer in OPE 117, used by
Pam Ward, Jan Vandehey, and me.  Pam had contacted
UCS and received help from another tech staff
person (possibly Brian?).  He thought that we have
too old Operating Systems on our MACs.  We checked
both computers (OPE 117 and NPE 218) and they are
both OS X 3.9.  We understand they need to be OS X
4.0 for the new email system to work.

I communicated with my chairperson, Dr. Peggy
Pedersen, and she thought that the university
would/should purchase/provide us with updated
Operating Systems so that we can use our emails at
school.  Can you help us with that?

Hey thank you very much for the info! Yeah, it is
actually a problem with our new mail system (its
very picky haha). So to fix your problem, in
Firefox, if you go to the top where it says "Help"
and click "Check for Updates" and update it till
it says you cannot update it anymore. This should
fix your problem. And if that doesn't work for
you, please feel free to email me back and ill
come take a look at it in person!! Thank you very

I was in another office today (OPE 117) and my
colleagues with MACs are having similar problems
to those I'm having in my NPE 218 office.  I tried
to pull up my email account on the OPE 117 MAC and
it didn't work either.  We tried safari.  So,
maybe it is not my particular office computer, but
a MAC issue.  Interestingly, I can get email from
my home computer.  My colleague, Pam Ward, told me
she has submitted a service request with UCS also.

I use firefox, and if that doesn't work, I use
safari.  I am able to get email at home.  I just
wasn't able to get firefox to work yesterday (it
kept saying it "unexpectedly quit...") and when I
used safari, it would go to the email site, but
then wouldn't "open" or get me to the login screen
- the screen was blank.  So, I'm thinking there is
some type of connection problem with my computer
in my office.

Hey this is Jordan with the UCS. I am emailing in

not loading. What browser are you using to view
the page? On your Mac it should be either Safari
or Firefox.
