I finally figured out how to deal with these
phantom folders: within Thunderbird, create a new
folder in exactly the same place and with exactly
the same name (including case) as the phantom.
This will bring the phantom back to life again so
it can be deleted.

Note that if there are phantom subfolders, each
must be done individually, i.e. a resurrected
folder cannot be deleted if it still has phantom
folders inside it.

Marjory called to stay that she needs help with
this. Has 2 files that she can't delete in
Thunderbird. She said she still would like help
with this asap. Has been waiting for 6 months.
Maybe remove Thunderbird and re-load
Thunderbird. Would need to be removed from all
the computers?

Hi Marjory,

We were just checking in with you regarding a
service request that we have for you (#38053)
relating to 3 files in Firefox causing problems
and needing some Firefox advice.

We were seeing if we can still be of assistance
with, or, hopefully things are working well.

Just let us know if we can help.

Thanks!

She is here now until 12:45, then from 2:30 -
3:15. She can leave the office open in between.

The problem lies w/Thunderbird:

She loves it except that at the end of winter term
she deleted 3 folders and the

WR222

And a trash folder that has appeared in the this
folder.

The only one to remain is:
WR321

She thinks that deleting the folder in Thunderbird
and not the webmail is part of the issue.
Everytime she opens any folder, she gets a notice
that there is a security issue.

I already asked for help with this issue; it's
gone 'backwards;' now the folders I had
successfully deleted have reappeared. Please ad
this information to the request (for which I never
got a svc req. number from Teresa).

Marjory said she deleted 3 files from webmail and
they are still showing up in Firefox. She said
she had talked with Dave Diemer about this but the
problem is still happening and she'd like to talk
to a tech that is very familiar with Firefox. She
is available Monday through Thursday from 12:30 to
3:15.
