Can you download this:
http://www.wou.edu/~bberkley/stuff/pc.zip

Extract it, run it, and call me the 9 digit ID.

I can remote in and fix the Sophos problem. It
has a defect that won't let it auto-update to
version 9.5.4

Hello Grant,

Yes, indeed you request is still active and now in
my queue.
In order to upgrade the license on that
desktop(W#20060236) to Office 2007 Pro Plus it
would cost $54.99. We can get that process going
if you can get an index code and approval from
your Department or Division for the upgrade cost.
Let me know if you need any more information.

Tricia

changing and making edits to the ES104-106 lab

with my machine only having MS Office 2003. Some
of my colleagues have newer versions of Office
that save Word files with the docx extension.
While I have installed the filter that allows
Office 2003 to read these files, we are now
running into the problem of documents bouncing
back and forth from the Doc to Docx extension.
I'm afraid we may be getting some file inflation
due to that.

Grant,

We need the WOU # off your computer to determine
if it was purchased with an Office 2007 license.
If it was, you can self-update to Office 2007 and
I can send you instructions on how to do that.

If it was not purchased with a license (pre-2007
WOU number), NS would have to purchase a Office
2007 license for it, and you would need to contact
Tricia Flaherty at flahert@wou.edu.

Thanks,

Hi UCS Help Desk,

My name is Grant Smith and I'm an adjunct
professor in the Earth Science Department (my
office NS 010). As the person in charge of
changing and making edits to the ES104-106 lab
manuals, I've run into a little bit of an issue
with my machine only having MS Office 2003. Some
of my colleagues have newer versions of Office
that save Word files with the docx extension.
While I have installed the filter that allows
Office 2003 to read these files, we are now
running into the problem of documents bouncing
back and forth from the Doc to Docx extension.
I'm afraid we may be getting some file inflation
due to that.

I'm curious whether it would be possible to
upgrade my office computer to Office 2007 in order
to fix that issue?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
