if the RAM from Eric's computer proves to be
faulty after testing we still need to do a DELL
RMA

After talking with Brian further found out he did
not want to take EWric's station out of "service"
to test RAM so he wants spare RAM ordered for
swapping out and testing RAM, It will be used as
tech spare for diagnostic purposes. Spare RAM
order placed 5-20 on order#5714

Can we get his memory replaced? It generates a
memory cannot be read error with a patch for
dual-core cpus.

He is using an XP VM without any errors, so either
he has bad memory, or we need the biquery
dual-core cpu patch from OUS.

Lets try more physical memory next. If I
understand correctly, it is only bi-query that is
disconnecting?

Tricia:
Please order additional memory to up Eric's
memory to 4GB.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Connection errors still occur on a regular
basis. In the last week I¿ve had to reconnect
~40 times.

Paul has plugged the computer into a different
network port and Brian has increased the page
file size to no avail. Any ideas?

His jack has 6 ports. A & B appear to be of the
'89 variety while C - F are cat5e. I moved his
computer to port D and his printer to port B.
We'll see of that helps.

Eric:
We are going to look at the network wiring from
the telecomm closet to your office. It may be
old wire that is not rated for the current
network speeds, thus causing the errors.

Bill & Brian,

Since Saturday morning I¿ve had ~14 connection
errors. I usually get a message to the effect ¿
connection to DBAccess has been lost. Then some
cryptic follow-up message relating to the process
dbaccess.exe, which I¿ve never seen in my list of
processes in Task Manager.

I know Michele VanDeusen has had the same issue
yet Dustin in my office has not. Weird!

I¿ve got a big deadline on Friday and can¿t
afford to stop work to figure this out, though I
will continue to monitor through the end of the
week. In the meantime, don¿t hesitate call if
you find any quick fixes from your end¿

Thanks,
Eric
