Cindi,

Frankie's problem is that she has Office 2003, and
the document she was trying to work with was saved
as an Office 2007 document type (with .xlsx
extension). You should save those files as Office
97-2003 compatible documents in order for people
still running Office 2003 to be able to work with
them. The compatibility pack only allows them to
open the documents, and save a copy of it under a
different file name, it won't allow them to
actually edit a 2007-higher file and save the same
file.

Please let me know if you require assistance
setting up Office 2007 to default to save as the
type of files that are backwards compatible with
down-level clients (people using Office 2003).

Thanks,

Cindi,

Frankie can go to Start, run and type this:
\\blake.wou.edu\push\Off2k7comppack\O12Conv.msi

Click OK or Hit enter on the keyboard.

This will install the compatibility pack.

Please let me know if she requires assistance in
doing this.

Thanks,

We need to check and see if a computer has the
compatibility pack installed to be able to open
Office 2007 files. It is computer #20041069[Edit Inv],
Frankie Blasch in Todd Room 127. If it is not
installed, we need it done ASAP.
