This tag was for our department laptop that was
being used at the Info desk while you had our CPU.
Did anyone check the laptop to make sure that it
was okay after Bryna had been on it & received
"threat" messages?
Nan

I reimaged the laptop, added their department
printers, looked up previous tasks associated with
it and added admin rights accordingly. I also set
Windows to manage the wi-fi

I returned the desktop (after restoring the start
menu shortcuts), and I picked up the laptop to do
some malware/spyware scans on it

Hello,

Do you have any idea when we will be getting the
Information Desk computer returned? We can¿t do
student ID cards without it. So we were just
wondering if we can give students who need an ID
card a timeline.

Nan Lehto called: Bryna is a student worker at
the WUC Info Desk and on the computer there (Dell
CPU W#20070432) when Bryna was logged in she got a
bunch of "virus alert" popups. Bryna Peterson's
information is below. We then took the CPU to
have a look at it (Nan said Adam has it) and they
set up their department laptop for use at the Info
Desk. Then, Bryna logged into the laptop
(W#20090780) and got the same "virus warning"
popups. Therefore, they suspect the issue is in
Bryna's account. However, this morning when a
different student work logged into the laptop at
the info desk the C: is empty and all of the
programs she needs to access are not showing up
(scheduling programs, making ID cards, etc). They
need a functioning computer at the info desk.

Nathan was able to log in under his login and it
seems to be okay but now it's asking for an Intel
connection problem - wireless. It keeps popping
up and then goes away.

When she's logged on the Windows XP recovery pops
up and she closed it as instructed. It did not pop
up again after that. This has only happened to her
at her work computer (she is a student worker)
