Got it.
Thanks

Hank,

Your old computer probably had a freeware pdf
writer on it, or Adobe Acrobat.

You need a PDF printer installed in order to
save/create/print to PDF.
There are several free ones, such as CutePDF or Foxit.

ts.wou.edu has a concurrent license for Adobe
Acrobat Pro 9.

Right, but up until June, with my old computer I
had an option in my printer options. I could open
a news story on a website, for example, click
print, and select as a printer "PDF". That would
create a PDF that I could save as anything I
wanted. It seemed to be a network
configuration. Did that function go away? BTW I
still see that option
when I am working on the TS.

I was not at all sure that the person on the phone
knew what I meant with I said I was looking for
the PRINT option for PDF.

Hank,

Reader just reads PDF's, you need a Writer to
create documents.

If you are downloading PDFs that already exist,
Adobe Reader X has a mouse-over menu at the bottom
of the page with a save button that looks like a
picture of a floppy disk.

Brian
I have Acrobat Reader X IF that has print as PDF
capability, I'll look for it.
I save web files as PDFs for my students to read
and have come to depend on that function for classes

Hank,

Does your laptop have Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader?

If it doesn't have Acrobat, you'll need to install
a free pdf writer such as CutePDF Writer, or
purchase a license for Acrobat X.

Thanks,

Needs Acrobat not Acrobat Reader, or can install
CutePDF or something like that.

Is using a new laptop and is trying to print to
PDF. Used to work but not with the laptop.
