Hi Andrew,
Thank you so much for your help today. I forgot to
ask you to copy the electroic version of the
EndNote manual for me. Is this something you could
send to me as an email attachment?
Thanks,
Maria

Installed EndNote on her work and personal computer.
Installed MS Office on her personal computer.

NVivo was not compatible with win 7. Too old of a
version.

I have found the disk media(old version 2 not on
T:DRIVE) from Dec 2004. It is a single user
license and the license agreement explicitly says
it is to be installed on a single computer with no
concurrent use. It is also so old it may not work
under WIN 7. it is also not eligible for upgrade
pricing from version to version 9 cost of new
license is $650.00 . If she still wants the
Nvivov2 installed you can try XP mode but she must
choose between work desktop computer and laptop
for installation NOT both, I have the install
media on the bulletin board behind my desk in a
plastic sleeve

Maria,
I check with Tricia on that NVivo software. The
software is older software so Tricia needs locate
the software and make sure the license is still valid.

I am actually not working tomorrow. I am working
from 12 pm - 5 pm this Friday.
However, if you need/want these installed promptly
you can call the help desk at 503-838-8925 or
extension 88925 and they can send another tech to
go install the software.
If not, I will come whenever you are available
Friday after noon.

As for the manual, I have an electronic version
that I can give to you.
One of the techs or I can copy it over to your
computer when we install it.

Thanks,

Andrew,
Thank you so much for your prompt reply and for
all your help. That's great. I also have another
request. Several years ago, I purchased the
software NVivo. At the time, UCS installed it in
my personal computer. However, I have since bought
a new computer. Would it be possible for you to
install NVivo in my personal computer in addition
to MS Office 2007 and EndNote? (I remember that
Tricia at the time checked with the company that
makes the software and they gave their permission).

I'm not on campus today, but I'll be in my office
tomorrow afternoon and could bring my personal
computer there as well. Are you available tomorrow
(Thurs) around 2:00pm? I'll be there until 4:30
(and then go to class).

Also, if I could have the manual for the EndNote
program, that would be great.
Thanks again,

I checked with Tricia, and it looks like you would
be able to installed EndNote on both your work and
personal computer.
MS Office would be able to be installed on your
personal machine as well, but we can only install
the same version that you have on your work
computer which looks like it is MS Office 2007.

If you are not busy the rest of the day, I can
come to your office and install EndNote on your
work machine, and if you have your personal laptop
there, I can do everything all at once.

I am available anytime from now until 5 today.

Please let me know what works best for you.
Thanks,

Hello Andrew,
Thanks for getting in touch with me. Yes, I do
need to have EndNote installed. However, I'd like
to have it installed in my personal laptop
computer. If I can have it installed in two
computers, I'd like to have it installed in my
office computer as well.
Also, I was told that UCS will let faculty install
the new version of Office in our personal
computers (for free). Since I do a considerable
amount of work at home, it is useful for me to
have it.

So, if possible, I'd like to bring my laptop to
UCS and have you install both the new version of
Office and the EndNote program at the same time.
Would this be possible?
Thanks,
Maria
