Dale, after discussing software upgrades with Erin
here is what she has decided to do:
Upgrade to parallell v7(necessary for snow leopard
and above)  and DataDesk to v6.3.  I have
submitted a purchase request for these two
licenses.  She will be keeping her VM at Windows
XP(it is not necessary to upgrade the WIN OS).  
Transferring VM from parallel3 to 7: 
You need to find the following file on old Mac :
/User/Documents/Parallels/VM Name.pvm

This pvm file is the only one you need to move to
your new Mac. Before you do it, start the virtual
machine and remove Parallels Tools (from add
remove programs in Control Panel).

To register this VM on your new Mac, just start
Parallels Desktop 7 and double - click the .pvm
file in Finder.

Process will start automatically
