Received an email noting the laptop was ready to
be picked up.  Apple replaced:
*logic board
*hard drive
*top case/keyboard
*hard drive cable
*battery indicator

The unit boots and operates properly and has
passed Apple hardware test according to Apple.  I
will pick up the laptop tonight and test it at the
Mac store before bringing it back to WOU.

Mac store sent the laptop out to the manufacturer
for repair.  Will call once the laptop is back and
functioning properly.

Mac store called.  Want to wipe computer and
install latest OS.  That should not be the issue.
 I returned their call and left a VM

He is set up with the replacement iMac, I have the
macbook now and am creating a Time Machine backup,
then will start the applecare fixing process.

apparently that did nothing, and it is still
broken.  Copying his user folder over now, and
then will retrieve laptop from his office

I did the transfer of the files via firewire, and
imaged the iMac for scott.  After that was done, I
went in and started looking at the laptop, and the
dick utility told me that there were several HDD
errors, but it reported that the SMART status was
good, and there were no bad sectors.  Booted into
the OSX disc and ran the disk repair on the
startup disk, and it repaired several errors.

I used the laptop subsequently, and everything was
running smootly, so I gave the laptop back to
scott (to his office, Lenore opened the door for
me) and left him a note to go ahead and try to use
the laptop now, and it it messes up again, I have
the iMac ready to go for him just in case.

He was hoping to put off fixing this until August,
but it is still having issues daily so he can no
longer delay things, His software usage is high
with a CS suite and Vectorworks so I don't have a
spare laptop that will fit his needs so I will be
using a GFA iMac as a temp spare while we work on
the laptop issues.  We will need to do a system
transfer from the laptop to the iMac and most
likely do a reinstall of Vectorworks which he uses
from a USB dongle and not the 
network(Richard will have more details about this)
I will have a temp station on the counter in front
of my desk shortly

After talking with Richard, we are going to get
the laptop from him and try to replicate the
problem.  If we can get it to replicate, apple
care will need to be contacted.

It switches over to a blue screen couple times a
day when they are using it.  On the blue screen,
they can't do anything so they restart and then it
starts the home page but it will eventually goes
back to the blue screen.
