I rebooted the computer and it worked.  Must have
been hung up on shutdown.

Got updated to Windows 7 Now his computer won't
load. It has a blue screen says please wait and
has the little spinning thing. He hasn't even been
able to log in. Says it's been doing that for 20
mins.
