They are trying to edit video with screen capture
software. It crashes because Camtasia is not
software made to handle DVD video, it is for short
screen capture. recommended other software like
vegas or premier.

Hi again, we are still having issues with Camtasia
(installed on Windows machine # 20110097). We are
getting out of memory errors and run time errors
when trying to produce the videos to DVD or other
formats if the video is very long.
Any ideas what we can do?
Thanks, Sue

Looked at the computer with the student worker,
its determined that Camtasia isn't best suited to
edit external files that are 13GB videos. It lags
the dell optiplex too much. They said they will
continue the edits on the macs in their studio.

Went over to look and Sue wasn't in. We looked at
the computer that was being used, and it was fast
at responding and appeared to be in good working
order. Will wait to talk with someone about it.

Yesterday Deborah called me to ask about the
station in the TRC LAB that she has a student
using to do a large project of closed captioning
the Graduation Video for DVD production. The
machine keeps getting an "out of memory error" and
locking up on them. Sue Payton in TRC has been
trying to help them out with this as well. I
checked the machine against the system
requirements and things should be fine. I also
found this possible patch to fix such errors:
http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774/~/camtasia-studio%3A-e_out_of_memory-error-message

I told her I would have the station looked at to
see if we can get it to work better for her.
