DVD-Rom drive failed. Replaced using spare.

When she tries to put different CDs (5) in her D:
drive it doesn't play or go anywhere.  She can
hear it trying to spin and makes clicking noises
but nothing goes.  When I took her to my computer
to check it, it gives options but still won't play.
