Lori Pagel has found the charger for the laptop
and I received the quote from Dell for a new LCD
screen - $122 (includes S&H)

Forwarded quote to Earlee and asked if she is
going to submit the PO for this

Until yesterday laptop #2 is the only one of the
three laptops to be checked out.  The last patron
was Ryan McBee.  Disability Services called me on
Friday, January 11th, to give approval for Ryan to
take the laptop out of the library and keep it for
several days and we made it due on Wednesday,
January 16th.  We had to override the date due
(and our system does track overrides) and that's
how I figured out the students name since I had
thrown the sticky note away that had his name on it.

Maybe Disability Services can contact Ryan about
the issue with the laptop.

Hi, Lori,

Unfortunately, we don't know who did this.  Our
checkout system does retain the last patron for
accountability purposes, but it's only the
most-recent patron for privacy purposes.  However,
when "Patron B" who had checked out the laptop
yesterday returned it immediately complaining of
the screen, our newly-hired student employee
checked it back in, thus eliminating Patron A from
the last patron field with the innocent Patron B. 

ODS would not have any such log either.  I've
copied Earlee on this message to let them know
what's going on.

Hi Janeanne,

I am hoping you can help me a little bit with this
service request.  Looking at the screen, this is
not normal wear and tear.  It is physical damage
to the laptop.  We are looking to see if you have
any logs on who may have checked out this laptop.
 If you have any logs, could you send them to UCS
(or would Disability Services have a log)?  I will
work on getting price quotes on the LCD screen
replacement as well as the power supply.

This laptop has something wrong with the
display--colored lines running vertically and
horizontally--and is currently unusable.  (This is
of the laptops that Office of Disability Services
houses here to circulate to students).
