Had her install TeamViewer.
Remoted into her machine with dick in the drive.

I was getting:
"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of
assembly component"

went here to uninstall .net framework and reinstall it:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926804

Then got:
"Error 1714. Setup cannot remove the older version of Microsoft
Office Single Image 2010"

Office 2007 was still installed and would not uninstall from
control panel. Went here for manual uninstallation:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218

After uninstalling 2007, 2010 install just fine. Set her up to
install suite updates and then the computer would restart.
Also, installed superantispyware. Showed her how to run it, and I
told her to run it after everything was updated.

Done.

I called Sandy Smith for a contact phone number so we could call
her and help her install TeamViewer, then remote session in and
help her install the office suite.

Hi Elizabeth,

I need some additional information regarding service request

Description: Need REMOTE assistance with getting Office 2010
installed(has media with her checked out) it is giving errors

I was wondering what number we could contact you on to help you
get your office setup?
We would need to call you and help you setup the remote session
so that we can install Office 2010.

Thanks,

It is the full version and not just upgrade. We
don't get "just upgrade" version of the media. I
would suggest you uninstall all versions of Office
including any trial downloads etc. and try fresh
install. If that still doesn't work then I would
suggest setting up a time when a USC tech can work
remotely with you through a remote helper tool to
help troubleshoot and resolve the Office issues
you are having. It may be using the upgrade
language because it sees the older version
installed.

Office 2010 would be an "upgrade" to previous
version Office 2007, they would call it an upgrade
if you are installing 2010 without uninstalling
previous version first.

I checked out from your office last Tuesday. The
disk is for an Office 2010 Pro upgrade. An error
is telling me it can't remove old 2010 Office Pro
stuff.

some reason become corrupted and no longer works.
Which is what I need to fix. I also assume that I
could load 2010 Office Pro, but of course an
"upgrade" wouldn't work and I would need the full
version.

She is a completely Office Campus Staff member for
DEP- Traffice Safety instructor and has a campus
issued laptop. She requested new media be sent to
her because Office 2007 was "corrupt" and erroring
out on install and when trying to uninstall old
version. She has the Office 2010 Pro Plus media
and needs some help troubleshoot the re-install.
error she is getting on uninstall says- "language
does not support..." Here is the email she has
been emailing me from: Elizabeth Taylor
