I need any error messages you are receiving,
diagnostic lights or beeps, and any
troubleshooting you've done before I can warranty
parts.  I also need the exact part - CPU fan,
graphics card with fan?

ran some updates along with installing and 
running virus scans due to there not being one.  
Still overheats after about 30 mins.

She brought in her computer and said that it over
heats and the fan turns off and eventually the
computer shuts down.

Computer is back with the techs.
