Just received laptop back from Dell.  Put battery
and hard drive back in and booted the machine. 
Everything is working well and the display is
brand new.  Motherboard, LCD, and "other" was
replaced on the machine.  Dell did not specify
what "other" was.  Emailed Dave to let him know
machine was back and ready for delivery/pick-up.

A technician was out again today and could not fix
the issue.  Dell is now sending me a box to ship
the machine to them.

Hello,

I received a quote from Dell today on some of the
parts that need to be repaired on your laptop. 
You can find that quote attached to this email. 
Unfortunately, I was unable to bring anything up
on an external monitor, so I know at least the
motherboard and LCD screen need to be replaced, so
that is what I had Dell quote me.  In order to fix
the laptop, I will need to send it in to Dell and
I will also need an index code to bill for the
charges of the repair.  Please let me know what
index code to use and I will have Dell send me a
box to ship the laptop to them.

Quote from Dell was received.  I passed that along
to Tricia.  The laptop would not show a screen
when connected to an external display.  I know
both the mobo and LCD display need to be replaced,
but beyond that, I am unsure as I could only
troubleshoot so far since I could not get a
workable screen.

Laptop needs to be connected to an external
monitor if at all possible (VGA port is damaged,
so it may not work) to find out what else needs to
be fixed.  Need a new motherboard and LCD display,
but will have to test out in case more supplies
need to be ordered.  Need to get a quote from Dell
as to how much the repairs may run and an index
code from CS for charges
