I believe this task is complete. The internet has worked whenever 
we have tested it, and Majory has been speaking with Michael Ellis 
about resolving the log in issues. I haven't heard anything in a 
couple days, so I think we can call this one resolved.

The issue with the port being disconnect was resolved. Paul 
Lambert confirmed that the port was malfunctioning, and 
rectified the situation. When he tested it using his log in 
information, it worked for him. We had thought that they only 
issue was with the port, since he was able to log in, he figured 
the issue was resolved and closed the task. The task has since 
been reopened and I have been working on it. 

The computer in your office is connected to the internet, Paul 
and myself have both tested it, so you should be able to log in. If 
you are able to log in remotely using your log in information, 
then there should be no problem logging in while on campus. I 
have tried to log in with the credentials that you provided me, 
but I have gotten an error each time. 

Right now I think that the best move is to wait for you to come 
back to campus and try to log in yourself, maybe the login info I 
got from you was incorrect, or I may not be reading it correctly.

Paul said he tested it yesterday and worked fine.
 I don't know if she just hasn't tried it or what.
 Tried calling the contact to check but no answer.

Paul told me that there would need to be a work
order to fix the port, or alternatively, to
activate the one on the other side of the office.

I'm not on campus, so could you please check with
Prof. Harding to see if she can investigate the
situation in my office?  her extension is 88245. 
She can also let a tech in as needed when she is
on campus.

Craig, I have no problem logging in off site. I'm not on campus, 
so  I cannot check there.  The problem yesterday wasn't logging 
in but the port.  I understood that needed a work order, but the 
service request has been closed.  Please clarify the situation.

The problem with the network has been solved, I was able to log 
in to my profile and use the internet successfully. Unfortunately, 
there now seems to be an issue with your login credentials. 
Using the username and password you provided for me, I was 
unable to log in, and it seems that you were unable to as well. I 
tested it on another computer back in my office and I got the 
same error, meaning the issue is with the account rather than 
your computer.

This issue can be solved by going to 
https://www.wou.edu/accountlookup and following the steps to 
reset your password. It will have to be done while someone else 
is logged in, so if you need me to come over and log in so you 
can get that sorted out, I would be happy to help. 

If you need any more assistance, gives us a call at 88925, or 
send me an email and we will hopefully get everything up and 
running very soon.

Was able to log into my profile and use the 
internet with no problem. Attempting to log in 
using Marjory's credentials gives a message saying 
"The referenced account is currently locked out 
and may not be logged on to".

After fixing her computer, I logged into it and
checked the web.  it works.  her ip is
140.211.77.113 and I can ping it from my desk on a
different network.  In fact, I can ping it from my
home computer.  By definition, she has internet
access. grrr

Why has this been closed?  I still do not have
internet access (as the message announcing the
closure acknowledges); since that is why I made
the request in the first place, I don't see why
you have 'closed' the request without resolving
the problem.

Computer was stuck at the identifying stage. Was unable to 
connect to any network. Ipconfig returns 169.254.159.118.

Replaced ethernet cable, still unable to connect. Also took over a 
laptop to see if that would connect, that didn't work either.

It seems like the problem is likely with the port. Port 005C307 D

Having multiple issues with her computer this 
morning. We did a hard re-start and things did 
not change. 
* Her computer goes to log in screen and when she 
logs in it takes about 4 min to wait. 
* Then it says Sophos updating failed and no 
network access
* She has no drives ( I,X,P, E) and no internet
