Tried to find a reason gmail was giving false positives for all files
being downloaded. Issue did not occur when I was logged in,
tried a few things like updating all browsers, changing content
settings in the browsers, and other fixes found online. Unable to
see if the problem persists for Jessica right now, emailed asking
her to let me know if the problem is still going on. It seems very
likely that the problem might be exclusive to her profile.

Hi Craig,

I wanted to let you know my computer is displaying the same
issue again. It won't download attachments. I won't be on
campus again until Friday, but you are free to go in & resolve the
issue at your convenience (do you have a master key?)

Thanks so much.

Unable to replicate the error when logged in as
myself. I did find an issue where the default
download directory was set to read only, but I
don't think that would cause a virus scan error to
show up. I really need to have Jessica logged in
to see what is going on, the error is probably
because of some setting that is specific to her
profile.

Her office hours are 1:30 - 4:30 on Mondays, I'm
sending her an email asking if she is available
any time before that.

Called to say she is still having the same issue.
 It says "failed virus scan".

Installed newer version of sophos and made Jessica an admin on
the machine. She wasnt in the office when I was working on the
computer, so I'm sending an email asking her to let me know if the
issue was resolved.

The initial problem was she can't get any
attachment from her email to download or open. It
says "virus scan failed". She has tried
restarting and running Sophos and it said there
was 12 errors. She cannot open ANY attachments
from anyone.

She will be out of her office most of the day--you
can find her in ED217--but you can come in and fix
the computer while she is in meetings.
