Angela,

You definitely can. There will not be any long-term issues with
doing so.

Talked with Richard. Should not be any issues with letting her keep
the annoying pop-up.

Can I just keep using my computer as it is with the annoying pop-
up?
I'd rather not go through all the hassle.

Angela,

It looks like we're going to have to re-image your computer in
order to resolve your windows activation error issues that you've
been experiencing for the past two weeks. I've consulted a
number of people and I've tried everything that I can at this
point. Re-imaging your computer is the only option.

Please copy over all of your files into your H: network drive that
you would like brought over and let me know what programs you
have on your computer so that I can install them on the new
windows installation. Let me know if you have any bookmarks in
your web browsers that need to be brought over as well.

Thank you for your patience,

Talked to Richard. He suggested that I check to see what
intervals the computer checks for licenses in the server using
the slmgr.vbs /dlv command and then deactivate and reactivate
it using slmgr.vbs /upk and slmgr.vbs /ipk . I went over and did this and found that the intervals were
fine (check every 2 hours, deactivate after 7 days). I uninstalled
the license and reinstalled it afterwards. It looks like it didn't
have any effect, but we'll see. I'll have to check back again later.
If this didn't work, Richard might have to do some work on the
KMS server.

Left VM. The windows activation server was recently restarted, so I
wanted to know if that had any impact on her issue.

Ran the skms commands Richard gave us. Apparently worked, but
the windows license key has not changed. Told her to give us a call
Thursday when she gets back in to let us know the status.

Stopped by, Angela wasn't there again. Coworker said that she
would be back around 1:00 PM. Went ahead and checked out the
computer anyways.

Last time I checked, it said that Windows was activated. It said
the same thing this time as well, but since she keeps getting
these activation errors, I decided to use on of Microsoft's KMS
licenses that tells the computer to check the server for a license.
When doing that, it activated normally and gave her a license key
of 00371-868-0000007-85156. I neglected to note down the
previous one, but I do recall it had the characters OEM next to
each other. Hopefully this will work.

Told her coworker that I would be back around 1:00 PM to check
it out with Angela.

Last time I went over, I may have checked to wrong computer.
Will have to pop by again to check it out.

Called, no answer. Will stop by anyways to see if someone can let
me in.

Jared came by last week to check out my computer,
but couldn't find anything wrong with it. This
morning I got the same message, so I took a screen
shot (attached).

I keep getting a popup on my computer that says I
am not running genuine Windows and I need to
validate Windows. When I go to the Microsoft
website to do this, it wants me to buy Windows.
Can someone please fix this? My computer is 20110872[Edit Inv].
