Replaced the keyboard and motherboard. Restarted
the computer and tested out the mouse. I am not
able to replicate any of the previous issues.
Emailed her letting her know her laptop is ready
for pickup.

She just dropped off her laptop. I will do some
testing to find out if anything needs replacing
other than the keyboard. Chances are, if anything
needs to be replaced, it will not be covered by
the warranty because it was a spill

Waiting to see if Dell will accept the keyboard
warranty attempt

****This is an email****
Hello,

I just wanted to update you on the task we have
for your laptop. I am attempting to warranty your
keyboard through Dell. Because the damage caused
was user related, I just want to let you know that
Dell may deny the warranty. If that occurs, the
department will need to cover the cost of any
hardware replacement that may need to occur.

If I am able to warranty the keyboard, I will need
to test out your laptop further to make sure there
is no other hardware related damage caused by the
spill, such as the motherboard failing to operate
properly. I will let you know if I am able to get
a new keyboard once I hear back from Dell and at
that point, we can coordinate a time that is best
for you to drop your laptop off for the
replacement to take place and further testing.

At this point, a reimage is not going to help
things out as you are most likely experiencing
hardware-related failures due to the spill. If
you prefer, you can drop your laptop off with us
while we try to get everything fixed and borrow a
loaner laptop. Let me know if this is something
you would like.

Thanks,
Lori

The cursor jumps around the screen and is super
sensitive. She's figuring out the warranty thing.
She would like her laptop reimaged in the
meanwhile to see if that does anything. She is
going to drop off the laptop when she's free.

She spilled water on the keyboard a little while
ago and sometimes it works and sometimes it
doesn't. She has noticed it getting worse. The
computer will always freeze as well and she has to
use task manager to fix the problem until it
happens again shortly after.
