Went over to look into the IE and Java updates. IE was already up to
date, Java needed up date. Only installed on one of the computers,
other is in use. Also connected printer to LAB-WUC while I was
there. Will work on other one later.

Hello, I have read your request to have the printers in the Non
Traditional Student lounge hooked up. You had received
instructions that were accurate for Windows 7, but since these
computers use XP, the process is slightly different. Since the
search bar in the start menu is a feature not present in Windows
XP, you need to hit Start and click Run, then type in \\Krusty in
Run window order to get the printer list to appear. From there
you will be able to find LAB-WUC, then just right click to
connect.

Wow, quick reply! Thank you very much for sending
someone out to check printer access problems.
Also, hope tech updates the Java that keeps
requesting, and maybe the IE. IE is 8. Don't know
why it it occassionally asks to update IE since I
think IE 8.1 is the only update available for XP?

Thanks, Sean

RE: No printer access in Non Traditional Student
Lounge (WUC 120) in the Werner Ctr.

Thank for the reply and info telling me how to
find the krusty printers. I am in the Non
Traditional Student Lounge in the Werner Ctr right
now. There isn't any krusty file in this computer
closest to the wall. Tried many different searches
with no success. Looked in files in Explore,
Control, etc. and don't see it- \\krusty. FYI-
this computer is running XP. Both computers are
Dell Optiplexes 745.

The computer WOU barcode sticker number is #
*20070433* and the other one is # *20070430* if
that helps.

So can't print on krusty printers' system.

Can you advise please? Thank you,

Sean,

I can write out the steps to get that printer
listed on your print list! You will get on the
computer and go to the start button-on the bottom
of that there should be a text box that says
"search programs and files"--in there you will
want to enter in "\\krusty". A long list of
printers will pop up and you will want to find the
LAB-WUC. Once you find that, you will want to
right-click and connect. It will do its thing and
add the printer to your print list.

Let me know if you have anymore questions!

I'm 1st year grad student and 55. Just found
the nice Non Traditional Student Lounge in the
Werner Ctr, this week. Another student and I
discussed that it would be nice to be able to
print off the two computers in the WUC 120 lounge
to the printers in the WUC 111 computer lab few
doors down, downstairs in the Werner Ctr. Of
course a printer in our lounge is OK, too...if we
were so blessed. But setting up printer access
from these computers would be nice. We don't mind
walking over to the lab printers.

Our two computers want to update Java and IE
(?). Does your office take care of that or should
we keep ignoring the annoying pop-ups?

    Thank you,

    Sean W.
