Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the update! I will close out that
ticket. We can also dispose of the printer for
you since it is no longer able to be used.
If/when you would like to purchase a new printer,
Tricia Flaherty can give you some price quotes.

Thanks again,
Lori

Hi Lori,
I checked with our in-house computer inventory
person (Aaron East) and he said to send to
surplus/or the junk pile¿whichever is appropriate
for a printer that costs more to fix than replace
;)

We will remove the printer from our inventory.

We appreciate all your efforts to investigate a
possible fix.

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

I just wanted to touch base with you regarding
that older HP printer we are hanging on to for
you. It was the printer that was going to be
networked, however, after further investigating,
many pieces would need replacing. I was wondering
if you were going to leave it out of commission or
if you might want to replace it? I still have the
original ticket open, and wanted to check in with
you before closing it out. Please let me know
what you would like us to do with that printer.

Thank you,
Lori

Hi Lori & Megan,
We appreciate your efforts looking at this
printer.
If you don¿t mind, please hold on to it and I will
talk with folks here to see next steps.
If it were up to me I would say ¿recycle¿ it! But
others will need to make that call.

I think Aaron East will be the one to contact with
you soon to give further instructions.
Thanks again,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,

After bringing the printer back to our area, both
Megan and I took a look at it. Megan works on all
of our printers across campus, so it was great to
have her take a look as well. The printer has
quite a few problems, so I am not really sure what
happened when it left that office and was moved.
Quite a few parts would need to be replaced. You
might want to look at replacing the printer as the
cost to keep it going would outweigh the cost of a
new printer and the maintenance on the new
printer.

Tricia would be a great reference for looking into
new printers if you decide to go that route.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Lori

Fuser, rollers (feed rollers and internal
rollers), parts covering internal roller need to
be replaced. Also talked with Megan about the
printer. She agreed that the cost to maintain the
printer would be an expense and it would be best
to get a new printer. Will talk with Nancy about
this.

Talked to Nancy over the phone. Let her know that
we will try to find out what exactly the issue
is/what hardware would need to be replaced and we
can all go from there to decide what route would
be best to take.

Hi Cathy,

I looked at the printer you are hoping to have
networked. The printer needs quite a few parts
replaced as it jams on every page that we try to
print. I am going to have to bring the printer
back to our area to try to diagnose which parts
would need replacing. I will give you more
details after I am able to look deeper into the
issues of the printer.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Lori

Went to look at the printer as Laven mentioned
that it was missing pieces. The printer jams
every time a page comes out. I am having Laven
bring the printer back so we can look to see what
parts would need to be replaced and if parts are
still available for order. Also need to check
into the cost of the replacement parts.

Jared needs to find out first whether this printer
has the ability to be networked. Then I need the
MAC addr of the printer before attempting to put
it on the server. He should be able to get this
done this week provided Cathy is available.

Hey Cathy,

Just wanted to send a quick follow-up email to update you.

We found out that there aren't any drivers for your printer that
we can put on Krusty because the printer is so old. Before we
activate that port, Lori is going to try to put it on Krusty to see if
it would even work. She won't be able to get to it today, which is
alright actually because telecomm is out for today as well. I'll
make sure to keep you updated on what's going on.

Sorry about this,

Jared Petersen

Hey Cathy,

I wanted to let you know that I closed out your previous service
request and created a new one specifically for setting up this
printer. The service request number is #52507.

I've talked to my boss, Lori Burgeson, and she would like you to
call Telecomm at ext 88010 or email them at telcomm@wou.edu
to get the paperwork started on getting that port activated. Once
that goes through, my Lori will then start the process of adding
the printer to the print server.

Thank you,

Cathy Thomas would like to have her HP Jetdirect 615n printer
WOU #20041156[Edit Inv] networked. She will need to have ethernet port
1 on outlet 004B061A-D activated.

Printer drivers should be located here:
