Hi Peggy,

I just wanted to update you on the status of your 
laptop.  I received the Dell quote and forwarded 
it to Jay, but I believe he is out for a period of 
time, so I am just waiting for approval from him 
and an index code to charge for the replacement.  
Once I get that I can send it to Dell.  I will 
update you once I have heard from Jay.

Received the quote yesterday and forwarded that to 
Jay Gense for approval and an index code to charge 
for the battery replacement.  He is away until the 
end of the week.  Just waiting to hear back from 
him.

Battery did drain quite quickly after it reached 
about 50%.  Also noticed extreme slowness in the 
laptop.  Took a long time to navigate through 
anything.  Asked Peggy if she would like her 
machine reiamged while I wait for the Dell quote 
and her department to approve the battery 
replacement.

I just wanted to touch base with you regarding 
your laptop that will no longer hold a charge.  
Are you still planning to drop your laptop off to 
us this week?  If so, please bring your charger by 
as well so we can check that out too.  If you are 
unable, let me know a time that would work better 
for you and I will update your ticket.

Thanks, Lori.  I have a big presentation that I'm 
working on for next week so I will wait to bring 
my computer to you until the week of January 20 (I 
don't want to have to get used to a loaner while 
I'm really busy).

Hi Peggy,

I was looking at the service request ticket that 
was put in our system yesterday regarding your 
laptop battery.  We will need to test your 
computer and run some diagnostics, so we will need 
your computer.  You can either drop it off with us 
in ITC 009 or I can send someone over to pick it 
up - whichever is most convenient for you.  We do 
have loaner laptops you can borrow in the 
meantime, so let me know if you will be needing 
one of those.

Laptop batteries are typically not covered under 
warranties, unfortunately.  Dell only warranties 
them for one year.  If I cannot get Dell to send 
me a new one, your department will have to give me 
an index code to charge for a replacement if we 
find the issue is the battery.  After testing our 
your computer, I will have Dell send me a quote 
for the cost of a battery and I will contact your 
department head if the battery replacement will 
not be covered.

The battery for my laptop will not hold a charge
anymore.  Is it possible to repair it or provide
me with a new one?
