Its working now. The scan turned up nothing, and he 
is happy with it.

Laven, 
Adam tried working on it, but couldn't run the
diagnostic tool (see note on your chair).  Keven
came in and really needed the computer, so he took
it.  He asked that you run the diagnostic when you
clock in, in his office.  

I ran disk utilities and hardware check
previously, figured it was a profile thing and
re-imaged it (see below).  Now it "runs slow, and
makes a grinding noise."

He came with it and I was able to get in logged in
with a network cable in.  Everything started
syncing when it started up and he is going to try
working on it at his desk and see if anything else
is weird.

It makes really bad grinding sound and also got
really hot.  It would also shut down in the middle
of tasks.

He got the computer back and it was working for a
little while but now he tries to log in and it
says user not accepted and just keeps spinning and
goes nowhere.  He would like to be contacted with
the cell given in the original memo.

The computer has been reimaged.  It still needs
Skype and Dropbox installed before he picks it up
first thing in the morning.  He is also hoping
someone will check in with him when he picks it up
to make sure what he needs is installed.

a profile issue, which would require a re-image.

Could you take a look to make sure I didn't miss
anything.  Repaired permissions, but that didn't
do anything to fix it.  I"m also getting a "home
directory for this user cannot be found or
accessed."  

When I log on locally w/ucsadmin, everything works
fine.

Booted in safe mode, which did let me log on to
the desktop.  But, all applications "quit
unexpectedly."  Reset the NVRAM/PRAM using
Command-option-p-r.  Rebooted, but it still
happened.  Verified the HD, but the scan came back
as okay. Ran the Apple Hardware Test: that came
back as fine too. Running Repair Permissions now.

Warranty date is 2/16/14

Mac not starting up.  He was working on Excel and
the computer just shut down. It did bring up a
crash report message and ever since then he has
had the issue and not starting up.  It just cycles
from the login screen to trying to start up--no
error then.
