Machine is imaged and has CS2 installed.  
Performed needed updates.  Called and left him a 
message that his computer is ready.  The battery 
is not under warranty, so his department would 
need to purchase a replacement which would be 
around $100.  I can get a price quote from Dell if 
they are willing to replace it.

Received new keyboard and installed it.  New HD is 
installed as well.  Will image it Monday and get 
everything ready to go.

Replaced palmrest.  Waiting on the new keyboard to 
arrive before imaging with Win7

Dell is sending a new keyboard to replace the 
broken warrantied one.

Hard drive is failing as well.  Warrantied hard 
drive.  Received a broken keyboard from Dell, so 
trying to get a replacement

Palm rest along with keyboard need to be replaced.  
Warrantying through Dell.

Battery will need to be replaced by department 
since the 1 yr warranty has expired.  Will need to 
get a quote from Dell

Sriram dropped off his laptop this afternoon.  
Will look into the battery issue and reimage his 
machine with Win7 and Office 2010.

He also has a license for CS2

Using 20090027[Edit Inv] as a loaner while I look at his work 
laptop.  Need to upgrade to Win7 as well

So, the laptop that I have has been misbehaving 
again.  I am pulling up the old email conversation 
only to remind ourselves that this is not a new 
story.

For a laptop, the battery barely works for a few 
minutes, defeating the very purpose of a laptop.
Every once in a while, the booting up fails.
And, yes, every once in a while, the notorious 
blue-screen-of-death, especially when I have not 
saved that Word document that I was working on.  
This time, I was so annoyed that I decided I would 
take a photograph and attach to this email.

Perhaps you will write to me that there are 
machines that are older than mine which needs to 
be upgraded before my laptop can be replaced.  If 
so, oh well.
