Oh boy... this is going to continue to be frustrating I see!
I guess we will have to do further research to learn how to
troubleshoot or cut from different programs. Thanks for your
timely check into this and response. I could not get it to ever
complete a simple cut, without freezing. Unless someone feels
they could help out with this, I suppose you can close the service
request until we have time to investigate more on our end.

Thanks,
Jen

The computer and the vinyl cutter are communicating to an
extent.

I added the cutter in sure cuts a lot pro, then tried to test
connection. Unfortunately testing the connection caused the
program to freeze. I then attempted to cut a simple shape on the
vinyl, and it either: Successfully sent cutting data to the cutter,
which caused the cutter to make cuts on the side, or it would not
do anything and the program would freeze. If the cutter is not
plugged in, trying to cut anything will result in an error saying no
cutter was found, so it is definitely communicating.

Looking online, I saw that this was a fairly common issue due to
a lack of memory in the cutter itself, but the only solution to the
freezing and not cutting was resetting the machine.

Hello -
Not long ago we acquired a USCutter TC series
vinyl cutter, and you all helped by installing the
'Sure Cuts A Lot Pro' software on one station in
CH 303 (first one on the right ¿ #20120221).

I've tried for some time today to test it but
cannot get the machine-to-computer USB connection
to work. I believe the cable is fine. The issue
may have to do with the message that comes up when
the cutter is connected: " 'A new network
interface has been detected' etc. " (see attached
screen shot).

I wondered if the correct USB driver is installed,
and I've tried, from within the software, to use
the Help feature where one can install USB
drivers, but the one for this model is not shown,
and a note says if it's not in the list than it
does not need to be installed.

The cutter itself is locked in a faculty room
across the hall, so you will need someone who has
access. I have pretty limited time, but I could be
available Monday afternoon or Wednesday (9am-12pm)
of next week, or perhaps Paula Booth (copied on
this and also in charge of this new hardware &
software) may be able to meet someone here.

Thanks for your attention to this.
Jen Bracy
