Was able to use the computer for about an hour with no 
problem. Ran ccleaner to repair registry and clean up computer. 
Also ran malwarebytes, but that didn't anything significant. I 
figured it might just be an issue with his profile, but the dell 
diagnostic returned error code 0142 which indicates the hard 
drive is failing.  We most likely don't have a hard drive that we 
can use to replace the failing one, and it is out of warranty.

Found a spare power cord.  It's with the computer now.

The computer is at my work station for diagnosis. If we don't have a 
power cable to use we'll have to call and ask him to bring his to us 
tomorrow.

Picked the computer up and brought it back for diagnosis. He left 
the power cable at home.

He says that it runs without any issues in Safe Mode, but not when 
logged in normally (freezes after about 5 minutes). He also states 
that occasionally the computer will shut down with a seemingly full 
battery.

convenient time to look at the machine.

Computer will start up for about 2-3 minutes and
then the computer will freeze up and when he tries
to ctl-alt-delete, nothing happens.  He has tried
with and without the ethernet plugged in but the
computer always freezes.
