Tricia said that Allen called. Office Hansen and
him figured out the issues and wanted to close out
the ticket.

Tried one last attempt at a new set of audio drivers from his user
account. If this doesn't work we'll pick up the computer and re-
image the machine.

Mr. Risen has been advised to monitor for the behavior and contact
us if it persists to set up a convenient time to have the work
performed.

Ran the system levels diagnostics from Dell boot options with no
indicator that there was a problem.

I have not tried booting in Safe Mode and having him log in to see
what the results are (he wasn't in the office the last time I went to
take a look at the machine).

I have narrowed the problem down to the User Account on that
machine (it doesn't make noise when I log in or when he logs in on
another computer).

Tried a new set of speakers with no resolution.

Checked Activity Monitor while logged in with my account and his
and I couldn't see anything running differently between the two.

Looked for any software that was installed that looked different
from the basic new build image and didn't see anything out of the
ordinary. He had installed a weather tracker that he couldn't
remember (possibly The Weather Channel) and Weather Bug. Both of
those have been uninstalled.

The mouse does not have to be moved for the noise to occur. It
sounds nothing like feedback, but actually a sound effect of a laser
or, very appropriately, a lightsaber being swung.

Allen just recently got this computer and
occasionally it will start making loud wiring
sounds (he compared it to the sound a lightsaber
makes).

He will be available today before 11 and from 1-2.
If you can't make it out to his office today, call
him at 88156 to find a time when you can both meet.
