I return the laptop to Dr. Sil office and help him
backup his files from the faulty laptop everything
works just fine.

I communicated with Dr. Sil and informed him that
the social science department informed Tricia and
I that they have a Win7 laptop that is not been
used by any of their staff. They prefer us setting
the laptop up for him as a replacement of his
faulty machine. I am done setting up the laptop
and ready to be deliver at 11:00am.

we are switching out this laptop W#20090465[Edit Inv] with a
different laptop of the same vintage that is WIN7
Pro eligible W#20091444[Edit Inv] but this "new" to him
laptop will be ineligible for replacement in the
future.

I have heard back from the Social Science division
and this laptop is no longer a campus supported
station that is eligible for replacement.  As such
we can not put Windows 7 on it since it doesn't
have a license for that and it is not eligible for
general fund replacement.  If professor Sil has
any questions about this he should take with the
Social Science Division office.

I checked Dr. Sil office yesterday upon receiving
the service request. He informed that due to the
power fluctuation his machine started
malfunctioning. With series of troubleshooting
done on the system on his machine it still
continue to run without loading windows. I realize
also the machine have windows XP which we are no
longer supporting. The only solution to this
problem is to re-image the system with windows 7.

Computer is stuck at log in screen.  He has tried
turning it off and back on a few times and it does
the same thing over and over.  He can't even get
to the log in screen, but he can see there is
power to the machine.
