Went over again - everything is working now 
except for a special version of Clio that she 
installed that we don't have on our installs 
drive - it's not working but is important. 
Tried various troubleshooting methods including 
reinstalling completely. She said she has 
someone she can call about the program on 
Monday.

Went over and uninstalled office x64, then 
reinstalled with the x86 version. This also wiped 
her outlook stuff out so that's been set up and is 
syncing her emails now - it will be at least 2 
hours before that's done.

She needs the 32bit version of Office suite.  She
is trying to use some software and the people are
telling her to get the 32bit instead.

Went and set up outlook - it's syncing her mail 
now.

Returned her computer - most everything is 
good, she has some of her own software to 
install still she says.

Outlook would not set up correctly - she 
recently chanced her WOU password and neither 
old nor new passwords would work.

She will be in on Wednesday to have that fixed.

Discovered the whole thing was heavily virussed 
after diagnostics restored ability to boot safe 
mode - removed all viruses but lots of 
corruption still existed even after registry 
fixes.

She decided to have it re-imaged. Currently in 
ITC009 for re-imaging.

She would rather not have to re-image but she 
is prepared to have it re-imaged if necessary. 
All her important files are on her H drive and 
she gave me a list of all the software she 
uses. The list is on my desk.

The laptop is currently at her desk in the 
library - she has another computer for working 
on and was told that I or another tech would 
come in later to see the long diagnostic 
results. She said any time before 5 PM is good, 
but she'll be on lunch around 12:30.

I went over to Lori Bullis in the library on a 
request from the front desk with the 
information that all of her user account 
related things were missing. 

What I found:
Her desktop is a black background and all of 
her icons are missing except for a few when she 
logs in to her network account with an ethernet 
cable connected. Everything is fine when she 
logs on to other computers.

When I logged on to my account, everything 
loaded fine. In addition, Sophos and the other 
background programs load when I log in to my 
account, but not when she logs in to hers. She 
said it just started doing that.

System restore could not be accessed - gives an 
error, the UCSAdmin password was corrupt (none 
of our passwords worked - it worked after I 
reset the password with my network account) and 
her corrupted user profile could not be 
modified or renamed (Was attempting to rename 
user profile to old so a new one could be 
generated without her losing her files), saying 
another program was using it. Stopping 
processes did not work to fix this. Using 
command line in administrator mode gave an 
access denied error.

Tried to start the computer in safe mode, but 
that does not work at all, as one of the 
critical files appears to be corrupted and it 
gets stuck when trying to load safe mode.

Currently running full HDD diagnostics - the 
hard drive is a bit louder than usual on that 
laptop.
