well again with no noises.

There was no WOU number provided for the machine.  
The manufacturing date brought up a WOU number in 
inventory which brought up the wrong machine.  Put 
in warranty request for heat sink in her OptiPlex 
machine.  Will contact her once it has been 
received.

I just received the replacement part for your 
laptop.  Please let me know when you are able to 
drop your laptop off for repair.  The swap should 
only take me 15 minutes or so to complete.

currently pending approval.

Machine has a crackling sound from the CPU fan 
just on top of the processor socket.I ran the 
diagnostic test , but it had no error- all the 
test was successful.Changed the processor fan 
speed from the BIO setup - that worked fine 
.Reverted all changes on the fan BIOS. the 
crackling sound reduced a bit.Since,the machine 
is under-warranty - maybe we could change the 
CPU fan.

My computer fan recently started whirring really 
loudly, accompanied by a kind of clicking noise. 
My guess is that the computer's dusty and needs 
to be blown out... but I'm also guessing you 
don't want me to take it apart myself.


Could you send someone over? I'll be around all 
day today and tomorrow, then out of town next 
week -- though you're obviously welcome to come 
by when I'm gone. I'm in Todd Hall 218.
