Called in stating that his computer has worked
great since the updates but now when it turns on
it starts running like its going to update but it
never starts the update and it runs very loudly.
Carla Menear can let you in his office if he is
not there.

had to do bunch of updates and also i changed the 
ethernet cable. Everything working fine. Also went 
back and double checked he has no issues.

To UCS Service Request:

Steve Gibbons, Criminal Justice faculty in 
Maaske Hall, is experiencing problems with his 
MacBook Pro.  Several times lately, the machine 
will appear to freeze and he finds it necessary 
to hard-reset.  When he restarts, a progress 
bar appears below the apple on the startup 
screen, as if the machine is installing 
updates.  The progress bar often stops around 
the half-way point, and nothing happens for 
several hours.  Today when I looked at the 
machine, I reset the PRAM with no satisfaction, 
and eventually I unplugged everything except 
power.  At this point, the progress bar 
finished and the machine started, but it was 
very slow.  He has recently upgraded the OS to 
Yosemite.

Steve plans to take the machine home over the 
weekend, so next week would be the ideal time 
to contact him.
