Hi Melinda,

Okay, great. Yes, we can definitely get Adobe CS
and Microsoft put back on there.

I will be going off shift soon, but someone should
be in contact with you to get it picked up.

Thanks,

Lexie

Hi Lexie,

Yes, I do still need to re-set to Mavericks to
address the issue. I have backed up my personal
files. I do have specialty software, which is why
I needed your help to do the wipe. I don't have
the license information for my software. I have
the entire Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft
Office. I'm not sure what else on my Mac counts as
"extra" beyond those two things. I am also
supposed to have Endnote installed on both the mac
and my office pc's on campus, but have been
forgetting to follow up on that.

I will be in my office this afternoon from 1-4 if
someone can get the laptop then?

Thanks,
Melinda

Good morning,

I'm following up on a service request we have for
you regarding your Mac laptop. Is it still having
the heat issue with Yosemite?

If so, you are correct regarding the need to wipe
and re-setup your computer. You would need to
make sure all of your personal files are
saved/transferred to another source, like your
network drives or an external drive. Let us know
if we can help you with this process. It would
also be helpful to know if you have any "extra"
software installed on your computer. We can come
get your laptop whenever is convenient, and we can
provide a loaner device for you to use in the
meanwhile if you would like.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or
concerns,

Thanks,

Hello,

I recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite, and
ever since it's been running crazy hot. Like I
cannot have it on my lap hot. And it burns through
the batter much faster and overall the performance
is slower.

This is all bad news.

I'd like to revert to Mavericks, but it looks like
to do so requires a complete wipe and re-install
of everything.

What's the best thing for me to do at this point?
With its current configuration, I cannot use the
machine...so frustrated I updated at all. But I
kept getting prompted to!

Thanks,
Melinda
