NEW EQUIP SETUP: (GFA) A Dell laptop needs to be setup and delivered 
to Michael McGlade in HSS 211. The WOU # of the new laptop is 
20140480[Edit Inv] and the old laptop is 20100756[Edit Inv]. He would like to keep his 
keyboard, mouse, and monitor. 
He would prefer to be contacted by email, and then by cell (503)949-
0180, not his office phone. 
The new equipment is on the shelves across from the restroom in ITC 
009.

Hi Michael,

I left you a voicemail, but thought I'd email you
with more details.

I ran system and hardware tests, with only one
coming back with a significant hard drive error. I
also got a change battery error.  I would concur
with you that while your computer is functional at
the moment, it may not be in the near future.  I
talked to Tricia about starting the replacement
process for you, who should be in touch.

In the meanwhile, I reimaged your laptop and ran
updates.  It should be fine to use until you get
your replacement.  I would advise you to save to
other storage devices such as your network drives
or external USB's though, just in case.  

You can pick up your laptop where you dropped it
off, or we can deliver it to you, whichever you
prefer.

Reimaged the computer.  During setup, I got errors
regarding a possible charging issue, but it went
away after a bit. This in addition the beginning
of hard drive issues spurred me to talk to Tricia
about a replacement. She will be in with contact
Michael.

Dropped laptop off at the helpdesk. He said he
backed up the "C" drive like you asked in the
voice-mail. The laptop is in the back at the tech
station.

McGlade's laptop has a long login time, and 
also requests a disk check at login even when 
there is no disk in the laptop. The laptop is 
also generally slow running. He requests a 
replacement laptop if the problems cannot be 
fixed.
