It appears to be identical replacements, so I'm 
not sure if it is actually running slowly or if 
she just got used to the loaner with fewer 
things on it to slow it down.  I'll check in 
with her to see if it's still happening next 
week.

Picked up loaner.  She said that her (original) 
laptop is running more slowly than it used to, 
so she wanted me to look into that.  It might 
be due to something Dell replaced, but in the 
meantime, she is back up and running with her 
laptop and all necessary programs/features.

She was still backing up her files.  I left her 
laptop with her though so she could start using 
it.  I told her I work again on Wednesday and will 
contact her then to pick up the loaner.

According to the enclosed document from Dell, the 
following parts were replaced/repaired:
AC Adapter/Cord, Processor, Heatsink, Motherboard, 
LCD Cover, LCD Panel

running.  They didn't wipe the hard drive or 
anything, so it's good to go.

Talked with Tricia (the investigator 
extraordinaire!) and we figured out a few 
things:

-Publisher is on MSO 2013, so she can have the 
option to downgrade to 2007 but doesn't need to
-The multilanguage pack was not part of Office, 
but part of the OS (see SR 47537) - Tricia is 
investigating this further
-We have no info about Adobe Pro, so we can try 
that code, but if it doesn't work, she can try 
through a different installer or purchase it

Ruby, 
Fran was unable to make the switch today and she
is out tomorrow.  There were other software that
she wanted on the loaner that we did not have time
to install.  I reiterated the warranty conditions
and said that she could switch Monday morning,
thinking that you were working.  If you could get
the following things done on the loaner, whoever
does work Monday should be able to do a simple switch:
- install Office Publisher 2007 that she says was
purchased through WOU
- install Office 2010 with the multilanguage pack
(may need to talk to Tricia)
- configure/add Chinese in the Keyboard Language
system setting. 

-* she wanted Adobe Pro 8 that she got a free
e-license for, but we couldn't switch it over. 
She knows she may have to use terminal server or
the Wyse Application.

morning are below.  (if you want you can assign it
back to me and I'll do it)

She called in stating that she would like to keep
the computer she has now for another 2 weeks to
finish up a project shes working on and than take
the computer and give her a loner if possible. She
would like to be contacted in two weeks check back
in on 5/13/15

She is using her laptop frequently and would 
like to keep it with her as long as possible to 
finish reports.
She asked if we could initiate the repair with 
Dell and take her laptop only when needed.

These are the issues:
Screen dying
Erratic/unresponsive touch pad

In addition, it says it doesn't recognize the 
power from the docking station.

This laptop is still under warranty until 6-2015
so the sooner it has issued repaired the better..
We won't start on W#2011**** replacements until at
FALL Term 2015

Met with Professor Ni - 
Her screen is super static-y and it looks like 
a bunch of pixels are messed up. It's also 
running pretty slowly and her touchpad is 
having issues.

I'm having her back up everything to her H 
drive for now to prepare for any next steps.  
She would like to know if she is eligible for 
any upgrades before we put too much work into 
the old one.

She is just going to use her laptop for the 
conference and then work on the repair/getting 
a new laptop when she gets back.

Her programs seem to be running really slow. She
has restarted and still same problems.  She also
noted that the screen seems blurry.  She has the
problem when the computer first starts up and
wants someone to look at it.  The problem isn't as
bad with a light background color.

She has a meeting out of state starting tomorrow
that she would like her laptop for.  She is out
tuesday-friday. Back on Monday.
