Checked in with Sarah on this -- she said since we 
traded out hard drives it hasn't been freezing, 
and the network dropping is very rare now.  She 
said to go ahead and close the ticket.

Okay here is the update for the summer:
I'm leaving this ticket in my own queue per 
Sarah's request (she said it is a low priority 
and can wait until I get back if it needs 
further work)

As of now, the new hard drive is installed and 
set up in her laptop, which has been returned 
to her.  I did not experience the freezing 
problem when it wakes from sleep.
Sarah will test further and will see if it is 
still having the network dropping issue.

I have that hard drive working again, so now 
I'm saving her original hard drive and testing 
on the new one to see if the same issues are 
happening.

The laptop is at my desk.

The hard drive I had ready is now not being 
recognized..
I have a hard drive from a loaner to do 
testing, as well as Sarah's original hard drive 
and the faulty one I started with.
All are currently on my desk.

network dropping is more frequent once again.

Sarah also noted that the freezing problem did not 
happen prior to the last reimage (although the 
network issue was already occurring)

Met with Sarah again today -
The freezing and network issues are occurring 
frequently again..
As such, the freezing issue does not appear to 
be linked to either the smartcard driver or the 
integrated webcam driver, as was suggested by 
various google searches with similar issues

Still experiencing issues, although the freeze 
seems to occur with less frequency.

Network is dropping on campus as well as at her 
house

issue - seems to be better but not perfect.

This has been an ongoing mission -

Sarah's laptop will drop wifi connection 
repeatedly.  It has also had an issue where it 
freezes after waking from sleep/lid closes
