Fordisc support.  I believe I have the software
running correctly now; please give it a test and
let me know if you find problems.

I will close this setup task now.  Please contact
the UCS Service Request Desk (88925) if you need
further assistance.

Steve:

I have just completed the re-install of the
Fordisc application at the intended workstation. 
I ran the .EXE file containing the serial number,
as you instructed, and was able to successfully
download the actual setup file as instructed by
the software.  The install appears to be
successful; I was able to launch the program and
have it check for updates.  Everything appears to
be up-to-date at this time.  I assume, at this
point, that the installation is successful and I
will update the end-user.

it looks like I ran the incorrect installer.  When
can you be in your NS 010 office again for me to
come over to try to get the software up and running?

The serial number in our records is #3946.  You
are correct in that I did not run the
FD3ftpsetup3946.exe.  With this in mind, what
steps do I need to take?

  Sorry for the delay - I am overseas and have had
spotty email access. Can you confirm the serial
number? If it's a PC installation the
FD3ftpsetup3946.exe file must be run first, which
was sent to the person who ordered it. I suspect
you only ran the FD3setup.exe file.

Equipment delivered and setup.  I'm keeping this
task in my queue for now, as I have not heard
anything back from the software vendor concerning
the error I reported (see next note).  I will go
back and work on this in the next couple days and
will keep appropriate notes in this task.

Computer configuration is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Computer configuration: Dell Optiplex 9020, 16GB
RAM, Windows 7 Pro 64

I installed FORDISC 3.  When attempting to run, I
get this error:

"Error
Something is wrong with your Fordisc 3
installation.  (Error 226)
Contact fordisc-support@roadrunner.com or visit
http://math.mercyhurst.edu/~sousley/Fordisc"
--OK button--

I have followed your instructions for Vista and
Windows 7 users, step 2, to run the software as an
administrator for all users.  I have also followed
your instructions, "Click here for the files if
you get the ace32.dll or Case Table 7010 error
messages".  I'm not getting these errors, but
thought I had nothing to lose by exploring this
solution.

This software installation is on a new computer
that I plan to deliver tomorrow, Thursday, 7/9, at
11 am PDT.  If you could reply to my email
sometime today (Wednesday), that would be most
helpful.

to this matter.

HI Dale,
I am not on campus today. I will be on campus
Thursday if that works. I guess the only place the
computer can go at this time is NS 010. There is a
computer on the desk in there that belongs to
Natural Science.  We can get rid of that one; I
never use it.  There is also a laptop that belongs
to Social Science under the desk. I have a program
called FORDISC on there. I was wondering if it
would be possible to transfer that program to the
new computer?

I am working on the setup of a new computer for
the Anthropology Forensics Lab.  Misty is listed
as the primary user.

I will have the new machine ready to deliver and
setup tomorrow, Tuesday 7/7.  Misty: are you
on-campus tomorrow, and if so, would you be
available for the setup?  If you are not on campus
this summer, how would you like to proceed?

Also, according to the work order, this setup will
go to NS 010; is this information correct?

NEW EQUIP SETUP: A Dell computer and monitor need to be setup 
and delivered to Misty Weitzel for the Forensic Anthropology Lab in 
NS 010. The WOU # of the computer is 20140856[Edit Inv] and the monitor 
is 20140857[Edit Inv]. The new equipment is on the counter in ITC 008.
