Michael and Melissa came and picked up the laptop.
They will be calling us to re open this ticket
once they figure out the next steps they want to
take.

When I picked up the computer I noticed some
damage on the front and back of the laptop.
Some of the damage looks like it was melted and
the other damage is scratches/indents.I also
noticed that the back was missing 4 screws that
keep the back shell in place.
I then turned the computer on and did some
updates (computer never turned off)but once I
picked the laptop up to move it while it was on
it turned off with out warning.
I then opened the back of the laptop to check
the inside and 2 little screws fell out. One
was bigger (same size as the screws that hold
the back shell) and a smaller screw that I can
not tell were is came from.

Computer is turning off shortly after starting up
without warning. There is no indication that it
needs to be updated.

This is occurring even when TypeWell program is
not open.

TypeWell was extremely out of date. Updated it and
tested it for about an hour. Seemed to work great
without shutting down.

Talked with Myk --
They don't run lots of programs on it, and the shut
offs only tend to happen when they are running
TypeWell. Myk is backing up local data right now,
and then we can come pick it up for testing. Please
go pick up ~2

****This is an email****
Hello!!!

This is Michael Rose, over in ODS. We have a
laptop (number 20130788) that is used to provide
TypeWell accommodations for students in classes.
Twice today it shut down on its own without any
warning or prior prompting from me in the middle
of a class. There was no warning that it was
shutting down; the screen suddenly went black, and
the computer turned off. It restarted quickly, but
a screen came up saying the computer didn't shut
down properly. It's done this once before, earlier
this term.

Is this something you could take a look at? Is
there something I could try? We use this
particular laptop twice a week, so having it up
and running 100% would be great.

Thanks for your help!!!

   ~Myk : )
