so as I said before, I made it worked and is
working on mine and scott's profile as we have the
admin rights. It was not working with other's. I
did some more digging. I did all those things but
nithing worked. Then I asked Kyle (tutor) to login
and did the setup from his profile and it worked. 
It's working now. I hope it's not profile based,
there is nothing on internet with that problem and
how to solve it. I have told him to ask someone
use audacity and inform me if it will work or not.
Did it on both the rooms, the Windows pc are
absolutely fine. The problem is only with the iMac's. 
left a voice mail to scott carter explaining all
these things.

Did some more research and installed some more
parts related to lame. did a completely new fresh
setup of everything on one of the computer it
works absolutely fine with the person with admin
rights. 
He said Kyle had problem with it, he cannot work
as he does not have admin rights so he will be
there tomorrow and he will test that one computer
that I have worked on today and let me know. I
will be working with them tomorrow on it.

Audacity is unfortunately still not configured 
correctly on two Macs here in the Digital Media 
Center.

I am able to make the prorgram work, but when 
someone without admin rights runs it, they get 
an error when trying to export to MP3. It works 
fine on the PCs, just not the Macs in those 
rooms.

Hi,

We had Audacity installed on the Macs and PCs in
HL 221 and HL 222, but unfortunately they are
missing a key encoder that allows export to MP3:

I was able to make the prorgram work, but when
someone without admin rights runs it, they get an
error when trying to export to MP3.
