Mouse and keyboard were plugged into the second 
monitor, which was powered off.  Plugged them 
directly into the machine to prevent future 
confusion.

Turned on computer this morning and it said,
"initializing", then "10 seconds to press any
key", tried to press a key and nothing happened. 
Key and mouse are still not responding.
