Delivered GFA and brought back loaner and 
monitor 20071083[Edit Inv] 
I am waiting to hear back about the other 
computer not in use (see email below) and will 
go back for that.  Updated inventory to reflect 
current locations.

Hi Mike,

Good news - while working on your computer, I 
discovered that it was eligible for replacement 
anyway.  I have prepped and installed the new 
machine and monitor in your office this 
morning.  I have left the jump drive there in 
case you were still using that, but I picked up 
the loaner machine.

I also noticed that there is another computer 
and monitor on your shelf; would you like me to 
pick those up as well?  

Please let me know about that extra equipment 
and if you have any questions about your new 
setup.

NEW EQUIP SETUP (GFA): A dell computer and monitor need to be 
set up and delivered to Mike Ward in MA 306. The W# of new 
computer is 20141172[Edit Inv] & the new monitor is W#20140960[Edit Inv]. The 
W# of the old computer is 20101144[Edit Inv] and the old monitors are 
W#20040706[Edit Inv] & W#20071083[Edit Inv]

Please also bring back the loaner computer and other computer 
not in use W#20110903[Edit Inv] & monitor W# 20111020[Edit Inv] (or 
20101314[Edit Inv]?) 

The new equipment is on the GFA shelf in the hallway.

I'm very sorry to hear that!  It's not good 
news, but it does let me know what our next 
step should be.  To move forward, we will need 
to re-image your computer.  We will prepare a 
loaner machine for you to use while we work on 
your computer.  What is your availability for 
the next few business days?

Looks like trying to recreate the profile wasn't 
successful... 

Please set Mike up with a loaner for now; his data 
is backed up onto a jump drive that he has (I also 
have a copy on my laptop)

Note the special software on his machine before 
reimaging.

Ruby,  Unfortunately, we are back to square 1.  No 
change with today's login (I also tried a second 
restart).  In fact, the few shortcuts I had added 
and configurations I made to Firefox before you 
came on Monday were gone today.

His machine and jump drive are back in his office

After further research and a clean malware 
scan, I am going to delete his user folder and 
return his machine to his office (not a loaner) 
so that he still has all his programs and 
setup.
I am also leaving him the jump drive with his 
data (a copy is also saved to my laptop).

Computer seems to have lots of problems... I was able to find and open Office 
products successfully, but many other issues seemed to be present.
Main problem seems to be that when he logs in, User Profile Service dialog 
appears, "You have been logged on with the default profile for the system.  Please 
see the event log for details or contact your administrator."

Talked with Megan - I've seen this before too - and she recommended deleting his 
profiles (main and temporary) from the machine to force it to recreate his profile 
upon his next logon.  

He has special software, so don't reimage until talking with him about that and 
backups.

Machine is at the imaging station in our office; he needs a loaner.  I'll bring 
one over this afternoon if I haven't solved the issues by then.

Two issues:

1.  Since moving from MNB 120 to Maaske 306, my
computing speed has decreased dramatically.  
Accessing network drives or even webpages usually
takes forever.

2. Last Monday when I logged in, MS Office apps
were inaccessible.   All bookmarks and settings in
Firefox were gone, as were my Taskbar icons.

I am in the office Monday and Wednesday mornings.
