****This is an email****
Hi Ranjit -

Thank you for the update. I haven’t had a need to
use Parallels for a while now, so I would prefer
that we use the newest operating system possible
even without Parallels installed. But I appreciate
you trying to put Parallels on my computer.

Please let me know if you have any other
questions! See you tomorrow!

Cheers,
Jaime

Hello,

Everything is Setup on you iMac and was ready on
Thursday. The only thing not working was
parallels. The parallels got installed and we were
able to install Windows too on it but there was no
network on the windows side. We tried to fix the
issue but it was making sense after we tried
almost everything. Finally, I worked on your
machine today too all day and we figured out that
the parallel version you have is Version 8 and it'
not compatible with the OSX El. Capitan which is
one step down to the newest version Sierra.
Looks like you were using an old version of
Operating System before you upgraded it to Sierra.
So we have two options now. Either to have an old
operating system back on your machine or you have
to purchase a newer Parallels.
Besides parallel your computer is all set and
ready to be delivered to you.

I also have one more additional question for you.
Did you use parallels after you upgrade it to Sierra?
It looked like you haven't used Parallels from a
long time.

If you have any questions, please email me back or
call our office at 8-8925.

Thanks,
Ranjit

I got this iMac on Oct 25th as she said is was
crashing randomly and she wanted us to reimage it.
She has upgraded to Sierra herself.

I installed OSX El. Capitan on her iMac. It's a
2012 machine. As she had upgraded to Sierra
herself I don't know what was there earlier.

Dave was the one who did the first setup with MAC
OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Might be she has been
updating OSX herself every time.

I took a picture of all her apps and printers
before imaging it.
Did all the setup on her iMac with all the
software that she needs and also all the 5
printers that was there earlier.

The only one thing that was unsuccessful was
Parallels.
Installed Parallel 8 in her machine but figured
out that Parallel 8 is not compatible with El Capitan.
She uses Parallel only for SPSS so she is fine
with not having Parallels on her machine.

I installed VMware horizon client and showed her
how to use it so that she can use SPSS.

DONE!!

Did the test as Megan has said below. Doesn't have
any issue.

The screensaver was Put on sleep whenever
possible. I think that's the issue but she says
the computers just shuts down even when she is using.
She has upgraded it to Sierra a week back.

Her personal laptop was also having the same
issue. Reimaging fixed it and that is what she
wants in this machine too.

I have clicked the picture of all her software in
the applications. She saved all her files. I did
saved all the printers too. She has Parallels and
I want to save that file before starting to image it.

The iMac is near my desk in the floor.

**have to save the parallels file before imaging**

Use Apple Diagnostics

Open Help Viewer’s Action pop-up menu (looks
like a gear), then choose Print to print these
instructions.
Disconnect all external devices except the
keyboard, mouse, display, and speakers. If you
have an Ethernet cable or external DVD drive,
disconnect it.
Restart your Mac, holding down the D key while
the Mac restarts.

After your Mac restarts, Apple Diagnostics
starts automatically. When Apple Diagnostics is
finished, it lists any problems it finds. (The
reference code is for use by Apple Support.)

To change the language, press Command (⌘)-L.
Follow the onscreen instructions. To start
your Mac from the built-in recovery disk and open
the “Contact Apple Support” webpage in Safari,
click “Get started.”

If Apple Diagnostics reports that your Wi-Fi
card is not working properly, contact Apple
Support or take your Mac to an Apple Store or
Apple service provider.

Use Apple Hardware Test

Open Help Viewer’s Action pop-up menu (looks
like a gear), then choose Print to print these
instructions.
Disconnect all external devices except the
keyboard, mouse, display, and speakers. If you
have an Ethernet cable or external DVD drive,
disconnect it.
Restart your Mac, holding down the D key while
the Mac restarts.

After your Mac restarts, you should see the
Apple Hardware Test chooser screen. If you don’t,
Apple Hardware Test may not be available on your
Mac. You may be able to start Apple Hardware Test
from the Internet. Reconnect your Mac to the
network, then restart your Mac while holding down
both the Option and D keys.
When the Apple Hardware Test chooser screen
appears, select the language you want to use, then
press the Return key or click the right arrow button.
When the Apple Hardware Test main screen
appears (after about 45 seconds), follow the
onscreen instructions.

If Apple Hardware Test detects a problem, it
displays an error. Make a note of the error before
you call Apple Support. If you are able to start
your Mac using OS X, you can retrieve the error
and send the information to Apple, using the
System Information utility (Choose Apple menu >
About This Mac, then click More Info).

Her computer has been randomly crashing. When
it crashes it completely shuts off and then
restarts itself.
Also when it goes to sleep it completely turns
off.
