re-installed the Microsoft .net Framework and it
fixed the error. you can find it by googling
"microsoft .net framework"

For the past two days, when booting up my 
laptop, I have received the following message 
box:

AlertusDesktopAlert. exe. Program cannot start 
because MSVCR120_CLR0400.dll is missing. Try to 
reinstall.

I have no idea where this comes from and what 
it means. Please advise.
