****This is an email****
Hi Megan - I'm hoping you can help me or let me
know who I should email at UCS who can. One of the
other librarians, Tracy Scharn, told me that she
had a similar situation last year and you were
able to help her, so that's why I'm reaching out
to you.

My WOU-provided computer is from 2013 and needs
the battery replaced (see my explanation below).
The person I corresponded with from UCS said that
the computer is too old for UCS to replace the
battery and said that I needed to go through the
purchase request process to have my department buy
a new one. I am confused though, because this is
the laptop I got from UCS when I started working
here in 2013...and I thought faculty computers
were supposed to be on some type of rotation to be
replaced every so often?

I don't need a new computer if the battery can be
replaced, but right now my WOU computer is
basically not functioning as a laptop because it
has to be plugged in to work, so either the
battery needs to be replaced or I need a new
laptop. It has been slowly getting worse for
several months, but since this term started it has
really been hindering my ability to do my job so
I'm hoping I can get this resolved as quickly as
possible. Thank you in advance for any help in
clarifying this process for me!

Best,
Elizabet

Hi Elizabeth,

I need some additional information regarding
service request #69494

Description: *9/27* Laptop Battery Issues

Unfortunately because this battery is over the one
year warranty so you will need to go through
purchase request in order to get a new one.

Thank you,
Erika

Elizabeth says that there is a no battery icon
on her laptop, and that for the past year the
laptop could only make it a few minutes without
being plugged in, she would like to know if we
can replace the battery
