I talked with someone in his department who'd 
already taken a look, and he had fiddled with 
uninstalling firefox; I guess he'd had multiple 
copies. It sounded like chrome was broken too. 
I logged on and both worked. Yang himself is 
leaving tomorrow to be in China for a month, so 
we'll find out either this afternoon or in a 
month if it's fixed.
